Amazing aromatic wine grown on an extinct volcano!

Wine: Őszi Arany 2007 - meaning Autumn Gold in Hungarian. 100% Juhfark varietal (ewe – fark: meaning sheep’s tail) – Come on, you've never had a Juhfark (ewe-fark)? It's about time you have! This is an award winning wine and was selected to represent Hungary in London and Hong Kong Fairs. Juhfark is an indigenous varietal.

Style: Dry white wine

Winery: Oszvald Cellars

Country: Hungary

Notes: Grown on an extinct volcano with the ruins of an 11th century castle on top, the vineyards of this delicious wine literally grow up the hillside to the walls of the castle. The winemaker, Lazslo Ozwald, specializes in aromatic white wines. This beautiful wine is medium to full body with an intense yellow color and aromatic nose of melon, fruit, floral and smoke. The palate is clean with Meyer lemon, melon, baked ham, dried herbs, followed by a touch of vanilla and spices and a clean finish. Higher acidity increases the complexity and offers a well balanced wine. A must try! Come on, how many others have ever tried a Juhfark?

Pairing: Wonderful with cured meats and cheeses, poultry and fish dishes. Our customers tell us it's amazing with grilled mahi mahi.
